Recipes - 5 AM Sticky Buns Recipe
Pot Pies *This recipe has 3 parts!

Sweet Dough
  • 2 TB Yeast
  • ½ Cup Sugar
  • 2 Cups Hot Water (110-115 degrees)
  • ½ Cup Milk
  • ½ Cup Oil
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 TB Salt
Place sugar in a bowl. Add hot water, then yeast. Stir. Let it set for 5-10 min until mixture foams than add milk, oil and eggs. Stir mixture, add salt then stir again. Stir in 4 ½ cups flour then knead in remaining flour. Knead for 6-10 min till smooth and no longer sticky. Place in oiled bowl, let rise for 45 min to 1 hour. The mixture should look doubled.

Filling
  • 1 Cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 TB Cinnamon
  • 1 Stick Butter
Melt butter, add sugar and cinnamon and stir.

Topping
  • 1 ½ Cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 Stick Butter
  • 6 TB Honey
  • 6 TB Corn Syrup
Pecans or Walnuts are optional

Cook all together. Will look like caramel sauce.

Finally…we put all together…

Use butter flavored Crisco to heavily coat 4 round cake pans. Pour topping even in pans. If adding nuts, place on top of caramel sauce.

Knead Dough for 6 min. Roll out in a square, cut in half. Smear filling on each ½ of dough roll and cut into 1 in to 2 inch (?) depending on how many you want or size of the sticky bun. Place on top of caramel and let rise for 20 minutes.

Bake for 20-25 minutes till light brown on top. Remove from oven and flip immediately onto platter. Be careful as the caramel is very hot!
