Wes Ferazzi
Wranger
We were all sitting around the table one day at lunch and I asked Wes to tell us about himself. He said he was born in Minnesota and while his dad left at the age of three, his mother sounded like she filled both parents shoes just fine. She started colts and ponies for the public and Wes was her rider. Although the colts and ponies were small, he said they could still be pretty rank to ride! The thrill of riding bronky horses naturally progressed into riding saddle broncs in rodeos around the state. He also got pretty handy at roping and may have even ridden a bull here and there. After following the rodeo circuit for a couple years, he thought he'd like to settle down into something. At this point I asked how old he was at that time. "16". Gees! I thought. He's already lived a lifetime for most! Being home schooled allowed for a lot of freedom. Enjoying riding most, Wes continued to pursue riding colts, and troubled horses for the public in South Dakota and also in Wyoming. I asked what brought him to this style of riding. Growing up he said he saw many different ways to train horses and they all seemed to lean more on the negative side. In his pursuit to find a better way, he came across a few horsemen that studied under Ray Hunt and Buck Brannaman and found this way to be the direction he wanted to go. Wes found us and we seem to be a perfect fit. You'll enjoy watching him ride; he's graceful, kind, and instills a sense of calm in his horses. He can throw a rope with ease - has even out roped Shayne and Randy, and knows his way around livestock as well as the outside runnings of a ranch. Very polite, respectful and soft-spoken, Wes will surprise you with his wit and have you rolling with laughter!
